if you're going to san francisco...

My friend Jane recently moved to San Francisco from Boston.  And by recently, I mean she got there last weekend.  I am so excited for her and all of the exciting, new adventures that await her there.  I know from personal experience, that a cross-country move isn't always the easiest thing to do, so I think it's pretty inspiring that Jane courageously packed up her life in Boston and made her way to the west coast (although, I'm pretty sure she didn't wear any flowers in her hair...gosh, Jane, what were you thinking??).

Jane's move has prompted me to do some serious day dreaming about San Francisco myself.  I have never even been to California.  I used to sort of just think of it as Los Angeles and it really didn't have much of an appeal to me.  But, the more I learn about San Francisco, the more I want to go there.  Plus, visiting Jane wouldn't be so terrible ;)

When I hear the words "San Francisco," here's what my touristy little mind comes up with:

So, those are the cliched images that pop into my head.  And someday I would love to be a tourist in San Fran and shamelessly take 1,000 of my own photographs of all of them.  I would want to eat at every street food vendor possible, even if that meant leaving San Fran weighing a bit more than I did when I arrived.

I would love to go to a Community Craft Night, sponsored by one of my favorite blogs, Oh Happy Day.  And I would want to throw a beyond-gorgeous outdoor party (or have Jane throw one for me, haha) like Jordan Ferney does oh, so well:

I would have no idea where to shop or eat, but would enjoy just stumbling upon the wonderful little places that I imagine to be tucked away in little corners all over the city.  I would also print myself a copy of Design*Sponge's San Francisco Design Guide, just in case.

Jane--let me know when you're settled in, so I can come visit!!  I'm so excited for you!
