east coast road trip, take 1

Sorry for the long absence.  Dan and I were off exploring New York and Boston.  We've been back for a little over a day, but I've been so exhausted that I haven't had any desire to write.  In fact, I still don't, so this post will consist of a lot of pictures.  But hey, if they're speaking a thousand words a piece, well, I think you'll get the idea:

View of skyscrapers from Central Park

The best cookies ever from a very unassuming, yet very famous bakery, Levain.  Dan loved them so much he went back in to buy more after just one bite.

Doing the typical tourist thing at Times Square and 30 Rock.

Cute places in the Village.  You almost wouldn't believe you were in the heart of New York City.

The Brooklyn bridge.  I quoted Newsies ad nauseam and secretly dreamt that we'd run into Spot Conlon, which would be impossible not only because he is a fictitious character, but also because he was supposedly alive in the 1890's.

We waited in line for about 45 minutes on a Thursday afternoon for Grimaldi's Pizza, located in DUMBO (Down-Under-the-Manhattan-Brooklyn-Overpass, for those of you who don't know what it stands for).  It was very good, but perhaps not worth all the hype.  Also, supposedly they haven't paid their rent in a year and are potentially being evicted.  Oh, and they only accept cash.  I can only wonder where all that money goes and why they aren't giving it to me!

Another shot of the Brooklyn Bridge.  That's all for now! More to come tomorrow.
